The Sturdiest Postcards of Them All

Postcards are wonderful little sentiments that let the people you care about know that you care. They’ve got funny sayings or pictures of places, they unlock memories and invite the viewer to step inside another world. They’ve been with us as long as we’ve had a postal service and they’re certainly not going anywhere. Another thing about postcards is that they’re largely made of paper, and as we all know; paper is made from trees.

But, what if a postcard wasn’t made of paper? That’s the deal with these beauties! Yes, wooden postcards! These wonderful cards were first sold at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair with most of them sporting puns associated with wood. The best part about wooden postcards? They fair far better than their paper counterparts! You can still find some for sale today. They range from $25 to $75+. But, if you’d like em fresh, that option is also available.

We’ve gathered some new and old wooden postcards from around the web which you can view below!
